April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. in seventh grade. She began playing the guitar as well as taking piano lessons which ignited her love for music writing. The first song she wrote was called Different, which she wrote at 12 years of age. The singer spent much of her the time of 14 composing songs and experimenting with music. She began writing with her dad in NY and LA within a short time. April featured other topics in her track, Take my Hand. These topics were meant for the friends of hers who struggled with issues such as peer pressure disabilities or even teen suicidal thoughts. Lockhart is a lifestyle and beauty influencer who has a growing following. She is a partner with the popular brand Ilia in partnership, and is also a lifestyle expert. It's true that she was born with no left hand. This is what makes her different. It's not the only thing about her. Lockhart's Instagram account doesn't ignore the fact that she has a disability. But it also doesn't insist on it. What message is it trying to convey? The message is That we all carry numerous identities. We're much way more diverse than we think that we're. Lockhart tells Lockhart via video "I do not believe that disability should define me. My goal is not to be an influencer on disability because I have so much more to offer." And it doesn't affect my everyday life. I go about every day as normal and have found my own method of adjusting things. Because it's an integral part of me and something worthy of discussion. Lockhart who is an inspiration for self-acceptance in general and is currently on a lengthy journey to achieve this. She admits that she has gone through phases where she felt insecure about dressing in certain styles that showed her arms. She wears what she likes and is proud to post pictures of herself in the outfits she picks out on social platforms. The key to self-love for her is the fact that it's not a goal. But, this isn't common for anyone who has insecurities. I think it's vital to surround yourself those who can see and know your true heart.
