Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in the French city of Puy-de Domme on August 9 1976 the eldest of four children. Her parents a dental surgeon and teacher recognized and supported her love of theatre and drama since her early years, which was more important than a desire to become a primatologist due to her obsession with monkeys. As a young woman rising to the heights of fame was rapid and marked with initial successes. When she completed her education and completing her studies, she took part in the French talent-scouting television programme Jeunes Premiers. She was awarded best young Actress in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors and began her career as an actor. Tautou went to The Institut Catholique de Paris, in addition to attending church as an early girl. She has since left the church. She has stated that she is not officially Catholic. Neben her acting, Tautou did modeling, and was the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. She also has a serious interest in photography and recently created an exhibit of her work at the Arles Festival, titled Superficial. Her photographs tends to focus on celebrities and fame. The camera's lens is focused on journalists who have scrutinised the actress following her sudden popularity. Audrey Tautou became a star and was recognized internationally for her debut performance as Amelie Poulain from Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie was a box offices and was well-received at awards ceremonies across all over the world. It is the most successful French language film in the US. The film's popularity led to Tautou's appearance in an array of film productions ranging from British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's long-distance Sunday of fiancailles before moving to Hollywood with Ron Howard's direction of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code along with Tom Hanks.
