Amy Adams in full Amy Lou Adams (born August 20 1974 in Aviano Italy) American actress, especially noted for her critically-acclaimed portrayals of naive and charming characters. Adams was born to a U.S. Army officer in Italy and then grew up in Castle Rock Colorado. The actress began acting and dancing professionally in the mid-1990s with Boulder Dinner Theatre, and then at the Country Dinner Playhouse. After moving to Minnesota in the mid-1990s, she participated in a documentary mock-up on beauty contests called Drop Dead Gorgeous (1998). When she moved to Los Angeles, she pursued an acting career after her debut film in which she played a dizzy, but friendly contestant. She also raised Kelly Curtis, Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh was picked up by actress Norma Shearer, and was offered a contract with MGM in the 1940s. Over the next decade her appearances in numerous well-known films like Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960), and Living It Up by Martin and Lewis (a movie from 1954).
